Saddam Hussein was the leader of Iraq from 1979-2003. Many considered him an evil and tyrannical ruler. He was displaced as the Iraqi ruler in April 2003, when US troops invaded Baghdad. He was eventually captured in Dec. 2003, and executed on Dec. 30, 2006.
