Who is ruling Syria Now?
The totalitarian regime of the ‘Arab Baath’ party rules Syria. Dictator Hafez Asad ruled Syria after a Coup in 1970. Asad formed a socialist dictatorship in Syria based on persecuting his opponents and brutally massacring tens of thousands of Syrians to maintain his power. He ruled till he died in 2000. His son Basshar Asad inherited power and continued the horrible policy of his father.
