The name Rosie’s Place comes from Rosen’s Market, the abandoned supermarket where Kip Tiernan first started our organization. “Rosie” does not represent any one particular woman. Kip and the volunteers who began Rosie’s Place were interested in a non-institutional name, which would be warm and accessible.
