Who is Rockports Competition?
Rockport’s competition includes wood frame housing, which is culturally unacceptable in most of the developing world. Wood housing is typical of “slum” neighborhoods, and in countries with poor fire protection services, wood construction is shunned. Local construction companies using traditional concrete block/brick methods take months to construct a house that Rockport can assemble in one day. Unlike Tekcrete™ Homes , which are built in a manufacturing plant, other companies build on-site which is time consuming and subject to countless problems including theft and inclement weather. Banks are often reluctant to finance a house made of wood because such houses are considered to have a very short lifespan. No housing technology we are aware of exists that can be built as quickly or as affordably as Rockport’s homes and is fire, rot, termite, earthquake and hurricane resistant.
