Rhea, or Rheia, was the titaness wife of Kronos, or Cronus. She was the one who sired Demeter, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera, Hades and Zeus. When Kronos received a prophecy that his children would overthrow him, he then ate his children, but Rhea hid baby Zeus and gave Kronos a rock instead. When Zeus reached adulthood, he fed Kronos a mixture of mustard and wine that made him disgorge his children, who were developing undigested in his stomach, along with the rock.
