Who is “responsible” for Responsible Care at Dow Corning?
Dow Corning’s global Environmental, Health, and Safety Board provides oversight of the Responsible Care program. The leadership for Responsible Care implementation in each of our three geographic areas — the Americas, Asia, and Europe — belongs to the three regional Environment, Health, and Safety Councils and our global business units. There are also six global code stewards — each responsible for one of the six codes of Responsible Care and for working through regional code stewards to ensure the quality and completeness of the practice-in-place criteria. All of these people have a leadership role in developing the framework and insuring the implementation of Responsible Care at Dow Corning. But, while there are many managers and teams working on the implementation of Responsible Care, the most important contributor to Dow Corning’s success is the individual employee.
