Who is responsible for removal and clean-up of tanks on my property?
A. The Fire Code requires the current “property owner” to remove out-of-service UST’s from the ground. The environmental sampling, investigation, and clean-up is only required to be conducted by the “owner” as defined in OAC 1301:7-9-02. Please note the determination of the “owner’ may be very complex and detailed.
