Who is responsible for policing in New Brunswick?
There are essentially two service delivery models in New Brunswick, offering full-service policing services: the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who provide policing to eighty-eight municipalities, and most local service districts, throughout the province, and nine Municipal / Regional Police Forces making services available to thirteen municipalities. The municipal / regional police forces provide policing services to a population of approximately 220,386. The RCMP in New Brunswick, provide services to the remainder of the population of approximately 503,000 representing the remaining communities in the province.
