Who is responsible for paying the $44.20 fee for the fingerprint checks?
Either the child day care employee or the child day care center is responsible for covering the cost of having the prints completed. This is a decision that needs to be made by each individual child day care center. However, if a child day care employee is making a minimum wage of $5.85/hr, their salary must not be brought below minimum wage as a result of their having to pay for the FBI check. In other words, the employer may pass on the cost of the FBI check to their employees only if the employee is making above minimum wage and the cost does not result in the employee making less than minimum wage.
