Who is responsible for obtaining the precertification of medical necessity?

0

It is the prescribing physician’s (e.g., specialist’s) responsibility to contact CareCore National (CCN) through the toll-free number for a precertification of medical necessity for AIS exams. CCN will not accept a request for precertification of medical necessity from the rendering provider. However, the rendering provider should verify if precertification was given by calling CCN at 1-866-496-6200 or verify on the website: www.carecorenational.com.
