Before using EIT products and services, business unit executives and developers should ensure that EIT products and services are accessible and usable by employees and members of the pubic with disabilities. For procurement of EIT products and services, requiring and contracting officials are responsible for ensuring that that the EIT acquisitions meet the requirements of Section 508, as implemented in the Access Board’s standards and the Federal Acquisition Regulations, respectively. For the development and maintenance of EIT products and services, developers are responsible for ensuring that the upgrades and changes to software applications and web pages are compliant with the technical standard and applicable technical provisions.
