The court assigns a Personal Representative (PR) to administor the probate case. Many times it is noted in the Will who is to be appointed. Under certain circumstances the court may appoint someone else other than who is stated in the Will. Once the PR is appointed, it is his or her responsiblity to oversee all the stages of probate.
