Who is responsible for furnishing the wood for the Boiling Springs Cabin?
The Forest Service has usually provided wood to renters and stocked it in the shed. We, the Forest Service, have provided this wood to ensure that the wood used is high quality and clean burning to minimize safety hazards and annual maintenance. The wood stove is the only heat source for the cabin, therefore, it must be provided to renters and should be part of the offered price for each night’s stay. The concessionaire will be responsible for furnishing wood at the cabin. However, this will be a joint agreement between the Forest Service and the concessionaire in order to provide the same high quality wood. The concessionaire could operate independently by purchasing wood permits from the Forest Service on an annual basis.
