Who is responsible for flood warnings?
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is the flood warning authority of Scotland with responsibility for warning and informing the public on the risk of flooding. SEPA operate flood warning services in partnership with Scottish local authorities and the police. This includes Floodline, a 24 hour, recorded messaging service which gives live warning and alert information specific to geographical areas of Scotland at risk of flooding.
