A. USP created the Model Guidelines Expert Committee (MGEC) to develop and approve revisions to the Model Guidelines and related information and documents that pertain to formularies and plan designs. This committee is made up of the Chairpersons of USP’s Information Expert Committees, who are elected by USP’s Convention membership according to the Bylaws of USP. USP has also created four Advisory Forums representing beneficiaries, drug plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and healthcare providers who give perspective and input into the development and revision of the guidelines.
