Who is responsible for damage to my electric meter system?

0

A. There could be damage to our meter equipment that needs to be repaired before Tampa Electric can restore power to your home. For customers with overhead service lines, Tampa Electric is responsible for the line that goes from the pole on the street to the top of the house, where it connects to a device called the weatherhead. If the weatherhead, the meter box or the line connecting the weatherhead to the meter box is damaged, please contact a licensed electrician to make repairs. Keep in mind that Tampa Electric cannot restore power until these repairs are made and necessary inspections are complete. Please avoid contact with any damaged weatherhead, line or meter box and assume that these items are energized. View a diagram for additional information.
