It would be helpful if we could say there is a distinct line between when the church is responsible for children and when parents are responsible for children. However, times like Wednesday night church supper are “grey” areas. Parents who drop their children/youth off at church (without arranging for an adult to be responsible) or do not actively supervise their children/youth during this time should understand that they are putting the church (not to mention their child/youth) at risk. If children go out to the playground or basketball goal during church supper, there need to be two adults with them providing supervision.
