Who is responsible for broken, missing or sunken drain covers?
We are responsible for replacing broken or missing drain covers. It costs between 200 and 400 to replace a drain cover, depending on the location and the type of cover used. We have spent just over 160,000 on replacements since January – enough to fill nearly 3,000 potholes. We are warning road users to take care following a spate of thefts of drain and manhole covers across the county.
