Who is responsible for approving the plan?
CDF is the lead reviewing agency and is ultimately responsible for determining whether the NTMP is in compliance. During review, CDF evaluates the NTMP by conducting a field inspection. Representatives from the Department of Fish and Game, Water Quality Control Board, California Geological Survey and the County Planning Department, among others, are invited to participate in the review process. Following field inspection, a report is prepared by all reviewing agencies that discusses the plan and any further recommendations that help ensure that the NTMP is in conformance with the rules. A Review Team Meeting is held during which the Review Team Recommendations are developed. These final recommendations, along with all CDF and other agency documents and public correspondence are submitted and a final decision on the plan is made by CDF.
