Who is required to submit an urban water management plan and where should the plan be sent?
The California Urban Water Management Planning Act requires that each urban water supplier, providing water for municipal purposes either directly or indirectly to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually, shall prepare, update and adopt its urban water management plan at least once every five years on or before December 31, in years ending in five and zero. Signatories to the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Urban Water Conservation in California (MOU), have the option of submitting a California Urban Water Conservation Council Best Management Practices (BMP) report as an alternative to preparing a discussion of the 14 demand management measures specified in the Act.
