Who is recovering water for The Living Murray?
The Living Murray is a joint initiative between the Australian, New South Wales, Victorian, South Australian and Australian Capital Territory governments. At the beginning of The Living Murray, targets were set for the volume of water to be recovered from within each state and territory. Anyone can propose and implement a water recovery measure. While most water recovery measures have been developed and implemented by state government agencies, a number have been proposed and implemented by other groups, such as industry associations (e.g. the Ricegrowers’ Association) and private corporations.
