Who is Pozo Pete?
Pozo Pete is a sheriff that guarded the ranches of San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande from the outlaws that used to camp out in the outskirts of the county. In those times, a daily ration usually consisted of beans, hardtack and beef jerky. Pozo Pete carried the cowboy-cut style beef jerky in his saddlebag. These days Pozo Pete spends time telling tales of the old west and selling the “Best Jerky Handmade Out West.” You can read more about Pozo Pete’s adventures and legends.
