Who is on the Expert Working Groups (EWG) of clinicians?

0

The EWGs are comprised of clinicians involved in building the HRGs with the Information Centre. The EWGs define what is needed and documented and represent their Royal College or professional association. These requirements are sent through to NHS CfH during the requirement request process. Once reviewed, and if accepted, new codes are developed by the OPCS-4.4 coding authoring team with input from colleagues supporting PbR. The EWGs are also responsible for communicating with their own specialty groups about what new codes are available. This means that once clinical coders have attended training on OPCS-4.4, they can communicate clearly about the changes with the clinicians at their trust, in the knowledge that their professional leads support the changes.
