This is the first time The Orange have been at the top, since their six-week run during the 1989-90 season. Syracuse received 59 of 65 first-place votes from the AP media panel, letting them jump up three spots while Kansas State slipped down one to the number two spot. The Orange came in at the third position on the CBS/RPI poll.
