Who is Naruto?
12 years before the start of the series, the 9 tailed demon fox attacked the Hidden Leaf Village (Konoha) under Madara Uchiha’s control. In order to stop it, the Fourth Hokage (Minato Namikaze) sacrificed his life using the dead demon consuming seal paying his own life to do so and sealed it within his newborn son Naruto Uzumaki. His mother died with his father leaving him as an orphan. That left the retired Third Hokage (Hiruzen Sarutobi) to reclaim his position. Before the 4th Hokage died, he wished that the villagers to view him as a hero who stopped the Nine Tailed demon fox rather than the container of the monster that destroyed the village. Few people did what he asked, treating him as dirt and leaving him with no friends and loneliness. The 3rd Hokage made a decree to the villagers to never speak of the demon inside of him.
