Who is most prone to allergies?
Allergies are most commonly seen in young children, but they can occur at any age. In fact, it’s not uncommon for an individual to never experience an allergic reaction during childhood, only to encounter a significant complication as an adult. Sex, ethnicity, and gender are not considered to be contributing factors. On the other hand, specialists now believe that allergies tend to run in families, so it is likely that a genetic component is at play. As well, influences including where you live (environmental factors), hormonal activity, and how much stress you experience, have all been shown to promote the onset of a new allergy.
