Who is more inclined to throw money at a problem as a solution, men or women?”
This is complicated question – not because of the problem but because of the solutions. Some people are very fear based and are unwilling to spend any money for anything. Others are misers and are constantly pinching their pennies. Some are very generous. Others are spend thrifts. The list goes on and on. Couple those characteristics with their tolerance for pain and you have a wide set of variables that can contribute to the “fix it” issues. I don’t think any of these are gender related. I work with a lot of people in the financial planning world and don’t see gender as a predictor. But I do see co-dependency and attitudes about money being a predictor. For instance, someone who is very tight, is not likely to try to fix anything unless it comes on them and slaps it. But a person who is a spendthrift will likely do anything to eliminate the pain. A very generous person is often an easy mark for someone who needs help or for solving a problem. Wisdom is what is required to handle money
