Melvin Calvin was a renown chemist and became popular his discovery of Calvin Cycle. He was American by nationality and was born in Minnesota, USA. He got educated from Michigan Technological University, University of Minnesota and University of Manchester. He was a professor and a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley and remained there all his life. He is best known because of his Nobel Prize in the subject of Chemistry, which he got in the year 1961. This prize was in recognition of his services of discovering the Calvin Cycle. This was the discovery of the path of travel of Carbon during the process of photosynthesis in plants.
