Marky Mark is the nickname for Mark Wahlberg. Although he is now a famous Hollywood actor, Wahlberg has previously been a successful popstar and model for Calvin Klein underwear. Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born on 5th June 1971 in Boston as the youngest of eleven Wahlberg children. He had a deprived childhood, dropped out of school at 14 and turned to a life of crime for which he served jail time at the age of 16. Upon his release, his brother Donnie was part of the successful world-famous boyband, New Kids on the Block, which Mark had previously been a member of. Donnie used his contacts to line his brother up with a recording contract. His debut album ‘ Music for the People’ with the Funky Bunch was a massive success.
