Who is liable to pay stamp duty?
Generally, the purchaser is liable to pay stamp duty. But if there is any contract to the contrary then the stamp duty will be paid according to the terms of the contract e.g. if there is a contract stating that the stamp duty will be paid by the seller or it will be divided equally then the stamp duty will be paid as per the terms of his contract.
