If your friend’s mother is friends with John Grisham’s agent and your friend’s mother’s friend has decided that this agent would be most happy to read your manuscript, I wouldn’t question it. If it’s John Grisham’s agent, I don’t think you need to research the agency or the agent. It all sounds like hooey to me, but you never know.
