Who is in favor of repealing all seat belt laws?
To be honest, I’m not a big fan of seat belt laws. I just wear mine all the time because it would be stupid not to. I feel the same way about motorcycle helmet laws. It’s not the government’s job to protect us from ourselves. Laws concerning how you ensure your OWN safety are silly in my opinion, as opposed to things like drunk driving laws that protect us from other idiots. If you feel like you want the right to be stupid and irresponsible when it comes to your own health and safety, I say so be it and let Darwinism run its course. I have a strange feeling that laws like these have very little to do with any government being truly concerned for personal safety, and more to do with attempting to minimize the costs incurred to law enforcement, health, and auto insurance industries when people are badly injured or killed.
