The Library Director is in charge of the day to day activities of the library. Library policies and the library budget is governed by a Board of Trustees which is appointed by the Cumberland Town Council.

The Library Trustees set policy for the library. Management of the library is the responsibility of the Library Director. The Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Trustees Room of the Library.
