Who Is Growing Marijuana In Kern County Mountains? And Why Do They Keep Getting Away?
The mountain of marijuana that Kern County Sheriff’s Department officials are seizing from Kern County mountains continues to pile up. The latest stash of 2,400 plants is worth more than $9 million. While officials are seizing pot in giant gardens, the question arises of why aren’t officials always chasing after those tending the gardens. According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, deputies with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violators Unit, Gang Suppression Section and the California Multi-jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (CAL-MMET) executed a search warrant on private property south of Bakersfield. Officials said deputies located an active outdoor clandestine marijuana garden, a campsite, and two marijuana-processing sites where deputies seized over 2,400 mature marijuana plants.
