Who is Georges St-Pierre?
George St-Pierre is a mixed martial artist, or MMA fighter, born on May 19th, 1981, in Saint-Isidore, Quebec, Canada. His fighter nickname is “Rush” and is often referred to by mixed martial arts enthusiasts as GSP. He currently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at welterweight (170 pounds) and is a contender for the division’s belt. GSP is the former champion, having beat Matt Hughes at UFC 65, Bad Intentions, in the second round by TKO. Georges was unable to defend his belt against recent UFC reality show winner, Matt Serra, at UFC 69 on April 7th, 2007, where he lost by TKO in the first round. His fighting styles are Kyokushin, Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (hence the “mixed” in mixed martial arts).
