Who is exempt from sales tax?
Government entities, churches, schools and non-profit entities may be sales tax exempt. A VALID sales tax exemption certificate must be received from the customer (no omissions, same entity as on schedule, same equipment as on schedule). Each state varies with exemptions allowed. Even if the customer is exempt the state may not allow exemptions to be used for specific lease transactions.
