Who is entitled to the minimum wage increase?
Employees in the federal jurisdiction receiving minimum wage rates will receive the pay rise. This includes employees who are covered by collective agreements or individual agreements that were entered into after 27 March 2006. The wage increase will not apply to: • employees covered by the five-year transitional federal award system; • employees covered by Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs) or certified agreements approved prior to the commencement of Work Choices, where those agreements deal with basic rates of pay; and • employees covered by preserved state agreements that deal with basic rates of pay. Pay Scale Summaries The Pay Scale Summaries will be adjusted to take into account this decision.
