Who is eligible to register a Sunrise domain name? What trademarks are eligible?
Only qualified Trademarks holders may register their domain names during the Sunrise period. A qualified Trademark owner for the purposes of the Sunrise Registration Period is anyone who holds a Trademark or Service mark of national effect, applied for prior to July 11, 2005 and granted before the date of the domain name application. The domain name itself must also meet certain rules. Registrars and registrants should become intimately familiar with the Sunrise eligibility criteria. Especially note section 4 (and its footnotes) of the Sunrise Policy at http://pc.mtld.mobi/documents/Sunrise-Challenge-Policy.pdf . It describes what trademarks are eligible, and how they can be represented in domain names.
