Who is eligible to participate in the PAC program?
Michigan Communities: Any Michigan city, village or township interested in creating a healthier community environment. Anyone within a community may initiate participation in the Promoting Active Communities program. We recommend that communities form a committee that works together to complete the various sections of the PAC assessment. People who may be interested in serving on the committee include government officials, the parks and recreation department, department of transportation, school officials, local health organizations and many other community leaders. Other States: Communities outside of Michigan may also complete the self-assessment, although they are not eligible for the award. Communities outside of Michigan will need special help with the online registration process and should contact us for further assistance.
