Who is eligible to participate in LUHSD-BTSA?
A teacher participates in the Induction Program if he or she: • Holds a Preliminary Credential and is in the first or second year of teaching. Holds a Preliminary Credential and is required to participate in an approved induction program as stated on the credential OR Has completed a teaching internship and has applied for, or has received a Preliminary Credential. OR • Has completed a professional teacher preparation program and student teaching and holds an emergency permit because the teacher has not yet completed Subject Matter Competence and/or RICA (Reading Instructional Competence Assessment) OR Has completed a teacher preparation program out-of-state, is entering teaching in California Public Schools with 2 years or fewer of public school experience and has been granted a Preliminary Credential with a requirement to participate in an approved induction program in order to receive a Clear credential.
