WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER INTO A DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP?
A. The primary qualifications for entering into a domestic partnership are: • Both parties must be at least 18 years of age; • Both parties are competent to consent to the partnership; • The two parties are not related by blood in a way that would prevent them from being legally married to each other in Nevada; • Neither party is married or a member of another domestic partnership, except to or with each other in another jurisdiction; • Both parties share a common residence; • Both parties sign a declaration that they have chosen to share one another’s lives in an intimate and committed relationship of mutual caring; and • Both parties desire of their own free will to enter into a domestic partnership The application contains a declaration that lists the eligibility requirements and by signing the document and having it notarized, each person is acknowledging under penalty of perjury that the above is true and correct.
