Who is eligible to compete in the Iowa Games?
An athlete must be a resident of the state of Iowa for at least 30 days immediately prior to the first day of competition. College students and military personnel who usually reside in Iowa or attend an Iowa school just prior to the Games also are eligible. *** Illinois residents are allowed to compete in the 2008 Summer Iowa Games. Age and skill level requirement are established by each sport’s governing body. The age determining date is sport specific; refer to each individual sport page. People with disabilities will compete with able-bodied athletes when qualifying scores and ability levels are comparable.
