Who is eligible to be certified as a TNInvestco?
Any partnership, corporation, trust or limited liability company may apply for certification as a TNInvestco by completing the following requirements by October 1, 2009. The Department of Economic and Community Development will review the application for certification and determine an entity’s eligibility. Entities wishing to be certified as a TN Investco must: • File an application with the Department of Economic and Community Development along with a nonrefundable application fee of $7,500 payable to the “State of Tennessee” at the time of filing the application. • Submit as part of the application an audited balance sheet that contains an unqualified opinion of an independent certified public accountant issued within 60 days of the application date that states that the applicant has an equity capitalization of $500,000 or more in the form of unencumbered cash, marketable securities, or other liquid asset.
