Who is eligible to apply to the Chem-SURF program?
Applicants must be non-graduating undergraduates from any university or community college with Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing obtained by the beginning of the Chem-SURF program. Applicants should also be highly motivated, high-achieving science majors wanting to pursue research and careers in the fields of chemical biology, chemical physics, and chemistry. All applicants must be attending a four-year university after the conclusion of the program, and must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. All participants in the program must also be able to show proof of valid health insurance for the duration of the program. This program is committed to promoting diversity within the field of science. Women, underrepresented minorities, individuals from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
