Who is eligible to apply to the CES Fellowship Program?
To be eligible for this award, applicants must fulfill four criteria. First, the CES Fellowship is intended to fund students first major research project in Europe. Students who have already engaged in extensive field work and study in Europe, related to their dissertation, are not eligible. Second, applicants must be in the exploratory, early stage of their research. Third, applicants are expected to have finished at least a majority of their doctoral coursework. Fourth, applicants must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program at a university that is a member of the Councils academic consortium. A list of the Councils member institutions can be found on the CES website, www.councilforeuropeanstudies.org. Should you submit an application and your institution is not a member, we will contact the appropriate office your institution regarding membership.
