Who is eligible to apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship?
There are two types of scholarship offered by the European Commission: I) Erasmus Mundus scholarship – general category (18 scholarships): In this category Mundus MAPP applicants from ‘third countries’ may request to be considered for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. The European Commission defines “third-country graduate student” as follows: – a national of a country other than EU, EEA-EFTA States and candidate countries for accession to the European Union;* – who is not a resident of an EU, EEA-EFTA State or candidate country for accession to the European Union; – has not carried out his or her main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in EU, EEA-EFTA States and candidate countries for accession to the European Union; – has already obtained a first higher education degree; and – has been accepted to register or is registered in an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course (in this case Mundus MAPP). * Nationals of the following countries are co
