Who Is Eligible To Apply For A Michigan CCW/CPL?
• Must be at least 21 years of age • Must be a resident of Michigan • Must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien • Must provide proof of pistol training from a certified firearms instructor • Must NOT have a domestic violence conviction • Must NOT be currently subject to a Personal Protection Order • Must NOT have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces • Must NOT have any felony convictions • Must NOT have any pending felony charges • Must NOT have certain misdemeanor convictions within either the 8 year or 3 year period prior to the time of application (See info on the Michigan State Police web site) • Must NOT be subject to an order or disposition for any of the following: • Mental health order • Legally incapacitated • Involuntarily hospitalized • Been found not guilty by reason of insanity • With Respect To CPL Eligibility, Who Is A Resident Alien?
