Who is eligible for NC SmartChoice?
NC SmartChoice is being offered to all State employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week, teachers, State retirees and COBRA recipients who are eligible for the State’s health coverage. Coverage for dependents is being offered to unmarried dependent children up to age 19 or age 26 if a full-time student at an accredited school. The NC Health Choice (CHIP) members are not eligible to enroll in the NC SmartChoice PPO plans.
