Who is eligible for funding?
All independently practising physicians in BC are eligible for the PITO program. This includes GPs and specialists in solo or group practice. The following basic criteria must be met:· A clear clinical need for an ambulatory care EMR (**see note below)· No separate funding for the same purpose such as a research grant· Minimum annual direct* billing of $50,000 under the provincial Medical Services Program.*Note: Physicians in alternative payment situations (e.g. salaried, service contracts) will be addressed on an exceptions basis in consultation with the physician and local health authority and can be approved by the PITO Steering Committee.
