Who is Easter and why do people celebrate Easter?

It has it’s roots in the different pagan religions. There’s Ishtar, Astarte, Eostere…I’ve seen different names for differing versions of a spring/fertitility goddess. Baby animals are signs of spring and fertility and the Easter Egg Hunt was a fertility related tradition (practiced by the Celtic people). The Maypole, too, is/was a fertility ritual. That, Samwein (AKA Halloween) and the Solstice (AKA Christmas) were celebrations most people celebrated so it was turned ‘Christian’ when the ruling party (Romans) took over.
